DVD • Somehow, between Seasons 1 and 2 of "Veep," the HBO comedy became, well, good.

It isn’t vastly different. It’s still about Vice President Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who’s not happy in her role and would much rather be president. Her staff is ambitious and, to a large degree, incompetent. But in Season 2, "Veep" becomes less self-indulgent and less mean-spirited. Selina has her moments, although she struggles. "I’m about to enter a national ass-kicking contest," she says. "With no legs. And a massive ass." Selina actually has some successes. And by the end of the 10-episode season, she appears headed — possibly — to bigger and better things. The DVD includes deleted scenes and commentary tracks.
