Museum hosts ultimate chocolate festival

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Cocoa on display at Chocolate: The Exhibition, at the Natural History Museum of Utah Friday February 7, 2014 in Salt Lake City. The exhibit opens Saturday.

Chocolate candies, chocolate covered bacon, chocolate beet cake and chocolate ravioli are all things to enjoy during this weekend’s Ultimate Chocolate Festival at the Natural History Museum of Utah.

The festival will take place throughout the museum and coincides with "Chocolate: The Exhibition," now on display.

The event includes tastings, a Mayan coffee café, hands-on activities that include cacao bean grinding and a community art project. There will be Mayan and modern dance performances and educational "chocolate blasts" from local experts.

When » Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where » Natural History Museum of Utah, 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City.



Price » Included as part of the museum’s general admission price of $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and youths (ages 13-24) and $8 for children (ages 3-12).
