St. Patrick’s Day Parade » This year’s parade, with the theme "Gift of the Gaels … A Legacy of Legend and Myth," will feature 130 entries. The grand marshal is John Welsh, Hibernian Society founder, the society’s first president and one of the Four Fathers of Salt Lake City’s modern St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will be followed by a Siamsa, a celebration of food and entertainment in the Gateway Grand Hall. Information, www.irishinutah.org.

25th annual Leprechaun Lope Fun Run » The annual lope ends at Memory Grove to let runners make the walk to The Gateway mall in time for the parade. Information, www.irishinutah.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=144:leprechaun-lope-fun-run&catid=1&Itemid=19.

When: 8:30 a.m., 10K starts; 8:40 a.m., 5K starts; 8:50 a.m., two-mile fun run starts
