‘Playing God’

The documentary "Playing God," which looks at the field of synthetic biology, specifically the American scientists who develop a creature that’s part goat and part spider — and whose milk can create an artificial spider’s web. After the film, Dr. Randy Lewis from Utah State University will discuss the ways silk proteins can be produced in large quantities, and discuss the current status of the "spider goat" herd. This month’s "Science Movie Night" film, presented by the Natural History Museum of Utah and the Utah Film Center.
