Audience members were invited to participate in a hands-on experience Saturday in learning about African drums and dance as part of Repertory Dance Theatre's Ring Around the Rose program for kids.

The event at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center featured dozens of drums on stage provided by Andy Jones from Djembe Direct and the African Heartwood Project.

Future Ring Around the Rose events include a country music and dancing experience with Mama's Wranglers on April 12 and musical theater with the University of Utah Youth Theatre on May 10.
