Flowers and chocolate may be common gifts for Feb. 14, but most sweethearts plan to take their significant other out to dinner.

A new survey conducted by Spectrem’s Millionaire Corner, an online resource for investors, showed that 65 percent of respondents plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day at a restaurant.

That makes Friday one of the busiest dining days of the year across the nation and in Utah.

Here’s a list of area restaurants that have planned decadent holiday meals. We suggest you make your reservations soon or risk spoiling the romance.

Salt Lake County

Café Trio » 680 S. 900 East, Salt Lake City; 801-533-8746; and 6405 S. 3000 East, Cottonwood Heights, 801-944-8746. Holiday specials available Feb. 13-15 beginning at 4 p.m. Regular menu also available.

Caffe Niche » 779 E. 300 South, Salt Lake City; 801-433-3380. Serving a multicourse meal for $50 per person. Seatings available from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Entrée selections include beef short ribs, butternut squash lasagna, or scarlet diver scallops.

Cannella’s » 204 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City; 801-355-8518. Serving regular menu plus specials including shrimp cocktail for two, for $9; Piedmontese baseball steak with garlic mash, $21; stuffed halibut $25; and raspberry tiramisu and strawberry cake, $6.

Dojo » 423 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City; 801-328-3333. Three-course meal for $35 per person. Includes choice of appetizer, Thai ribs and a sushi roll plus panna cotta dessert.

Faustina » 454 E. 300 South, Salt Lake City; 801-746-4441. Offering a five-course meal for $50 per person. Includes soup or salad, choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Seatings from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

Finca » 1291 S. 1100 East, Salt Lake City; 801-487-0699. Offering an à la carte menu as well as special tasting menu for $45, plus tax and 20 percent tip.

Flemings Prime Steakhouse » 20 S. 400 West (The Gateway mall), Salt Lake City; 801-355-3704. Serving a special two-course menu Feb. 13-15 that includes filet mignon with an 8-ounce lobster tail for $69.96 or pecan-crusted salmon for $59.95.

Fresco Italian Café » 1513 S. 1500 East, Salt Lake City; 801-486-1300. Serving a three-course meal that includes soup or salad, entrée and dessert for $50 per person on Feb. 13-15. Open at 5 p.m. Limited dinner menu also available.

Grand America Hotel » 555 S. Main, Salt Lake City; 801-258-6708. The Garden Cafe will serve a four-course dinner for $55 per person. Live jazz music, cocktails and chocolate fondue available in the Lobby Lounge on Feb. 14 and 15 from 5 to 10 p.m. Cost is $25. The Sunday brunch on Feb. 16 will feature an enhanced dessert buffet. Cost is $49 per person. Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

La Caille » 9565 S. Wasatch Blvd., Sandy; 801-942-1751. Serving a five-course dinner from 4 to 9 p.m. for $95 per person. Several selections for each course including sweet prawn and lobster crêpe; scallops, beef tenderloin and chocolate budino with coffee gelato.

Lamb’s Grill » 169 S. Main, Salt Lake City; 801-364-7166. Servings an early-bird two-course dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. for $17.95. Regular menu also available until 9 p.m.

Left Fork Grill » 68 W. 3900 South, Salt Lake City; 801-266-4322. Serving regular menu plus specials including prime rib for $19.99 and baked salmon or shrimp scampi. Accepting reservations from 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Little America Hotel » 500 S. Main, Salt Lake City; 801-596-5704. The Steakhouse is offering a four-course dinner that includes soup, salad, beef tenderloin and chocolate crème brûlée for $48 per person or $90 per couple. Available 4 to 10 p.m.

Log Haven » 6451 E. Millcreek Canyon Road, Salt Lake; 801-272-8255. "Five Days of Romance" menu served Feb. 12-16. Regular menu also available.
