Trib Talk: Insider's guide to the Sundance Film Fest
The Sundance Film Festival comes to Utah this week, bringing celebrities, red-carpet premieres, parties, sponsors, movie deals and, oh yeah, the best of independent film.
When Robert Redford launched the festival 30 years ago, offerings totaled 86 films on two screens. This year, 186 films (out of 12,218 submitted) will be shown on nine Park City screens plus other venues in Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance Resort.
On Monday at 12:15 p.m., Salt Lake Tribune movie critic Sean P. Means, Sundance co-managing director Sarah Pearce and Sundance manager of Utah student and community programs Kara Cody join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about highlights from this year's festival, including films for children, e-ticketing and local logistics.
