TV preview: ‘True Detective’ comes to HBO

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star in the eight-episode series "True Detective," an offbeat crime drama that jumps from 1995 to 2002 to 2012 and back again. It revolves around a macabre murder in 1995, a similar crime in 2012 and events related to the original crime that come to a head in 2002. It starts slowly but sucks you in.
