Olympic ski jumping and nordic combined trials and nordic festival • Athletes will be competing for spots on the U.S. Olympic team for the 2014 Winter Games at Sochi in Russia. The Sochi Interactive Fan Zone lets visitors try out winter sports, visit with Olympic athletes and jam to live entertainment. A nordic festival with interactive exhibits and food is planned for 1:30-5 p.m. Saturday. More information, https://utaholympiclegacyfoundation.org/nordic-combined-olympic-trials/.

When: 9:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. Sunday

Where: Utah Olympic Park, 3419 Olympic Parkway, Park City

Admission: General admission is free to the trials. The interactive fan zone and nordic festival also have free admission.

Mushroom Springs Hike at Antelope Island State Park • Join the ranch curator for a moderate 4 mile hike from the Fielding Garr Ranch to Mushroom Springs. This is a great way to see the bald eagle that roost in the trees at the spring. Space is limited. Reserve your spot by contacting Clay at clayshelley@utah.gov or call 801-649-5742.

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Antelope Island State Park, Syracuse

Admission: The hike is free but admission to the island is $10 per vehicle.

Park City Live music festival • This two-day festival features Leftover Salmon and Bill Payne of Little Feat. More information, www.parkcitylive.net.

When: 8 p.m. doortime, 9 p.m. showtime Saturday and Sunday

Where: Park City Live, 427 Main St., Park City

Admission: $20 to $30

EVE 2014 • The three-day EVE celebration kicks off Sunday with various events at downtown Salt Lake City venues including Bounce Town, Hoop-De-Doo (with glowing hoops and a giormous coloring book) and the Ballroom (with jumbo beach balls) at the Salt Palace Convention Center and Artist-Made Karaoke (local artist-created music videos of your new and old favorite songs) at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. More information, eveslc.com/.

When: Sunday through Tuesday

Where: Various downtown Salt Lake City venues

Admission: $15 for a three-day pass
