2 vegan eateries to move to larger Salt Lake location
Frisch Compassionate Eatery has outgrown its tiny Salt Lake City location and plans to move to a larger spot in January. It will take the Cakewalk Baking Co. with it.
Frisch owners Rachel and Leigh Kade opened their vegan eatery at 779 S. 500 East about 18 months ago. It quickly become a favorite dining spot for vegans, vegetarians and other compassionate diners.
In October 2013, Cakewalk Baking Co. — a vegan bakery — began sharing the Frisch kitchen.
The two businesses will move to a larger space at 1300 S. State. The move is "somewhat unexpected," Rachel Kade said, and the businesses need help funding the cost. So they are holding a fundraiser.
Customers who buy a $20 gift card through the end of December can redeem it at the new location for $25 worth of food — a 20 percent savings.
Customers can buy the cards for themselves or as gifts. Cards even can be mailed for $1 shipping.

The Kades are no strangers to fundraising. They used a Kickstarter campaign to help get them off the ground in 2011.
