Video • Hugh Jackman sharpens up his metal claws again for this second solo outing as Marvel's comic book hero, "Wolverine."

The hairy mutant travels to Japan where he is promised a cure to his curse of immortality but instead is thrust into a war between henchman and mobsters.

Director James Mangold tries to dig into Wolverine's troubled past and darker psyche, and Jackman is up to the task, but the story fails to pack a "Dark Knight"-like emotional wallop.

The movie strings a lot of satisfying fight scenes, yet it lacks the bigger action set pieces Marvel audiences have gotten used to from the likes of "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3."

The Blu-ray and DVD discs come with an alternate ending, a tour of the set and a digital copy of the movie for mobile devices. —
