German Day of Remembrance • This event, held every year in Utah since 1977, honors the memory of German POWs who died in Utah. One of the speakers Sunday will be President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, a fighter pilot in the postwar German Air Force and second counselor in the LDS Church's governing First Presidency.

TELEVISION • OK, the premise of "Almost Human" doesn't sound all that promising — three decades in the future, a cop (Karl Urban) and his robot partner (Michael Ealy) battle bad guys. But this is actually a very promising series that's not what you might expect. The biggest twist is that the cop is very robotic and the robot is very human.

In men's college basketball, BYU hosts Mount St. Mary's (Friday, 7:30 p.m., BYUtv) and Utah hosts UC Davis (Friday, 8 p.m., P12N). And in college football, BYU hosts Idaho State (Saturday, 1 p.m., BYUtv) and Utah travels to Oregon (Saturday, 2 p.m., Fox Sports 1).
