Salt Lake Health Department closes library cafe, food cart and bar
The Salt Lake County Health Department recently closed down a library cafe, a food cart and a bar for creating an "imminent health hazard,' according to reports on the department's website.
• Hemingway Cafe at Salt Lake City Library Square, 210 E. 400 South, was closed on Friday, Oct. 25, after inspectors found nine health code violations, including not having hot water, holding potentially hazardous foods at the wrong temperature and employees without food handler permits.
• Mama Simonettes Spaghette, a food cart at 200 S. Main Street, was closed on Monday, Oct. 28. It had 10 health code violations: no water in the hand wash sink, employees not washing hands when required, personal beverages in food preparation areas and commissary agreement not available for verifications.
• Also on Monday, inspectors closed Henry's Inn. The bar at 2645 S. State, was cited for three violations: no operational hand was sink; no operational three-compartment sink and food handlers were not washing hands when required.
