Utah forecast: Cooler air to blanket state
First Published Sep 23 2013 07:16 am • Last Updated Sep 24 2013 10:57 am

Autumn dawned Monday with a nip in the early morning air along the Wasatch Front, and more of the same was expected on Tuesday.

While Monday’s high temperatures in northern Utah were predicted to stay in the mid- to upper-60s, southern Utahns looked for relatively cool — for them — highs in the low-80s.

The National Weather Service began the day by issuing a flood advisory for east-central Utah’s Moab and Green River areas. That advisory, which warned of potential overflowing in small streams, ran through 9 a.m. Monday.

The Utah Division of Air Quality put the entire state under its "Green," or healthy air quality banner.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website, meanwhile, listed only sagebrush ("high") and mold ("moderate") as elevated on its pollen index.

Salt Lake City’s high Monday was pegged at 69 degrees, while Tuesday’s temperature for Utah’s capital was forecast to hit 83; Ogden looked for 67 and 79 degrees, respectively; Provo 70 and 81; Logan 67 and 77; Wendover 70 and 78; Duchesne 67 and 73; Cedar City 70 and 78; St. George 83 and 89; and Moab 73 and 80 degrees.
