The King’s English Bookshop is hosting a reception to celebrate the-late Kenvin Lyman, an artist, singer/songwriter and organic farmer who, before he died, had nearly finish a cookbook.
Called "Kenvin: An Artist’s Kitchen: Food, Art, and Wisdom of a Bohemian Cowboy," it is filled with not only his recipes but 175 of his illustrations and "bits of rural wisdom and lore," according to publisher Gibbs Smith. In the introduction, Lyman writes that the recipes are based mainly on what grows in Utah and often what grew in his kitchen garden.
He died in 2011 from a head injury.
The bookstore, which is selling the book for $50, says artists, musicians, farmers, gardeners and friends of Lyman will be at the reception.
When: Saturday, Sept. 14, 7-9 p.m.
