Farm to Glass
During September, 13 local mixologists will compete in Salt Lake Magazine’s Farm to Glass Cocktail competition. The drinks, which must use seasonal ingredients from the Downtown Farmers Market, are available at Taqueria 27, Wild Grape Bistro, Frida Bistro, Faustina, Finca/Pago, Copper Onion, Takashi, Caffe Niche, Plum Alley, Kristauf’s Martini Bar, Pallet, Tin Angel Café and ZY. Patrons will determine the winner of the best original cocktail through an online vote at: saltlakemagazine.com
Oktoberfest in Sandy
Enjoy a German bratwurst for lunch and a traditional sit-down German meal for dinner during the Grace Lutheran’s Oktoberfest. The event includes local beer, a carnival and a marketplace with 60 vendors.

Trolley Wing closed
The Trolley Wing Company at Trolley Square closed its doors after almost 14 years in business. The lease at the mall wasn’t renewed, though the restaurant could open in a new space. Opening in November 1999 in an old trolley car, it had moved inside the mall. Follow Trolley Wing Co. on Facebook for updates.
The Homestead Resort will be host a Harvest Moon Hootenanny, an Appalachian-inspired event with food including grits with roasted chilies and cheese and cornmeal-dredged catfish; speciality drinks like a Cherry Moonshine Hoot; and music performed by West Virginia-based Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband.
