We're used to complaining about there being too many reality shows on TV, but there's only one new one on the networks this fall. And it's not really new, it's just a new version of an old series.

1. MasterChef Junior (Fridays, 7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13, Sept. 27): This is exactly what the title indicates — "MasterChef" with kids. Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliott do the coaching and the judging; there are a bunch of precocious youngsters (with over-anxious stage parents just out of sight); and it seems rather benign. Except that kids should never be used as ratings fodder because something will always go wrong — if not on the show then in the hoopla surrounding it.
