The Rose Exposed returns

The Rose Exposed, a two-day festival featuring Salt Lake City's best dance, music and theater companies, returns.

"Last year's festival was such an astounding success that we've decided to make it an annual celebration every Labor Day," said Stephen Brown, director of SB Dance, one of the six groups that have joined forces for the event. The others are Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation, Plan-B Theatre Company, Pygmalion Theatre Company, Repertory Dance Theatre and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company,

The Rose Exposed includes a $15 variety show on Friday, Aug. 30, and a daylong series of free workshops, classes, readings, performances and open rehearsals on Saturday, Aug. 31.

This year there also will be an outdoor festival called The Rose Exposed Block Party. It run from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 30 and will include food trucks, live bands and more.
