Celebrate Heritage Days in Spring City

Spring City • Tour historic homes, buy art and antiques or join in a live radio show, during Spring City's annual Heritage Day Celebration.

It takes place Saturday, May 25, in Spring City, just off Highway 89 between Mount Pleasant and Ephraim.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with breakfast in the city park.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., artwork by well-known artists will be on sale in the Old School and at local galleries.

Tickets for the home tour which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. are $10 for adults and $5 for children. A "sneak peak" takes place on Friday, May 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. Those tickets are $5 and are available at the Old Spring City School and the Main Street Firehouse.

For the "Art Squared" silent auction, also taking place at the Old School, patrons can bid on one-foot square paintings by well known Spring City artists including: Osral Allred, Lee Bennion, Susan Gallacher, M'Lisa Paulsen, Dough Fryer, Kathleen Peterson, Cassandria Parsons and others. Ticket sales close at 2 p.m.

Also available will be a collectors series of 10 hand-pressed prints by select artists.

At noon stop by the city park for lunch.

The day ends with a live radio show, entitled "Life Under the Horseshoe," Tickets are $10 for adults; no children under 12. Purchase them at Victory Hall, 35 N. Main, beginning at 5 p.m. Patrons must be in their seats by the show's 6:30 p.m. start time. "Life Under the Horseshoe," will feature live music, stories of life in old Spring City and audience participation. It is being broadcast on KMGB FM Radio 95.9 and 102.7 and affiliates.
