$20 • PThe fresh -house-made pasta sampler is downright stunning to look at and fabulous to eat. Beautifully light gnocchi in spicy arrabiata sauce, two plump ricotta and spinach ravioli and a heavenly creamy capellini will set your heart aflutter. Hands down it's the best pasta I've sampled in Salt Lake.

Valter's Osteria • 173 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City; 801-521-4563. Open Monday-Thursday, 5:30 to 10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. Bar opens at 4:30 p.m. Closed Sunday
