The night before Salt Lake City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade comes another eccentric bit of walking: the monthly Gallery Stroll.

It takes place Friday, March 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at participating galleries in and around downtown Salt Lake City. Admission is free.

Here are some highlights:

"Between the Lines" » Three artists share space at Local Colors Gallery, 535 S. 700 East, in a show called "Between the Lines." It includes works by fused-glass artist Mae Wellington, painter Catherine Darling Hostetter and photographer Kerry Jones.

"Lenzi, Reynolds, Tachinni" » Another triple bill happens at the Rio Gallery, 330 S. Rio Grande, featuring a group work by Kristina Lenzi, Gretchen Reynolds and Eugene Tachinni. The work is billed as a mix of "installation, photography, mixed media, puppetry and performance art. … This group work had its genesis around the idea of observing social, political and personal paradigms. We’re looking at our personal paradigms and how they relate to each other."

"Breaking Through — Something New" » The Utah Watercolor Society is staging its annual exhibition of its two-star and signature members at the Michael Berry Gallery, 163 E. 300 South. The show urges painters to "break out of the box" by using water-based media in different ways. Doug Allen, art director for the Jordan School District, is the show’s juror.

"Art Roadshow" » Williams Fine Art, at 200 E. South Temple, will hold its version of "Antiques Road Show." Specialists in art appraising, restoration, framing and art insurance will be available with advice and free estimates and appraisals.

Pryor and Wilder » Blonde Grizzly, at 213 E. 300 South, pays tribute to the comic genius of Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. More than 20 artists will be participating in the group show.
