Briefs: A new chef at 360 Main, the return of the holiday window stroll at Grand America plus Bambara's Red Ribbon special

Carl Fiessinger is the new executive chef at 350 Main Brasserie and the Spur Bar and Grill in Park City. Fiessinger, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, is a graduate of Johnson Wales Culinary Arts College. He previously worked at Panache, Boulevard and Zola in Salt Lake City.

Holiday passport

The free Holiday Window Stroll at the Grand America Hotel begins on Friday, Nov. 23 and features 14 unique displays that celebrate holidays around the world. Guests who get their "passports" stamped at each window will receive a treat at La Bonne Vie, the hotel's French-style patisserie,

Red Ribbon special at Bambara

Order the three-course Red Ribbon lunch special at Bambara next week and the downtown restaurant will donate $1 to the Utah AIDS Foundation. The lunch costs $13 and includes choice of soup or salad, one of three entrees — including the house hamburger, smoked turkey wrap with bacon or the special of the day — and warm chocolate chip cookie.

Wine dinner at Martine

Enjoy a four-course dinner paired with the wines from French wine grower Louis Latour at downtown's Martine Cafe. Chef/owner Tom Grant's menu includes monkfish prepared "lobster style," rabbit confit and braised duck leg. Each course will be paired with a different wine.

Surprise supper benefits hurricane victims

By Invitation Only — an underground dinner event with a surprise location — is offering a special dinner this month to benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy. A portion of the dinner price, as well as all donations made that night, will be matched by the FFG Foundation and NuSkin Force for Good Campaign.

When • Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 7 p.m.

Get invited • email byinvitationonlyslcut@hotmail.com. Include first and last name, date you wish to attend, telephone number and the number of guests in your party. Don't get impatient, as it may take a week to get a response.

Cost • $80 per person plus tax and tip. Diners must prepay with Visa or Mastercard when making their reservations. Wine not included, but BYOB is accepted. No corkage fee. Dinner options available for vegans, vegetarians and those who are gluten-free or who have other food allergies.

Gingerbread competition

Let the frosting fly! Children ages 5 to 12 are encouraged to decorate their own gingerbread house and enter it into the fourth annual Gingerbread Jimmi House Competition. Winning entries will be awarded cash prizes.
