spotlight show » Utah audiences seem to appreciate pioneering New Age composer and pianist David Lanz, and with his new performance they will have more to appreciate. Lanz will be releasing his new album "Crisofori’s Dream Re-envisioned" at the show, a reimagining of "Cristofori’s Dream," his most successful and influential album. "I can’t believe it’s been 25 years," said the 62-year-old musician. In addition to performing new renditions of songs from that album, Lanz will invite his good friend, Utah composer Kurt Bestor, onto the stage so Bestor can debut new songs from his forthcoming album of songs, which aren’t tied to his Christmas spectaculars. Also on the playlist will be songs that Lanz covered over the past half-decade during his eye-opening explorations of The Beatles. "Without the Beatles, there wouldn’t be a David Lanz," he said. In addition, Lanz, who will be releasing a new Christmas album this season, will premiere some of that work at the concert. Whew.
