You can celebrate Halloween — without being scared silly — by attending some of these events geared for children and families.

Cornbelly's Maze and Pumpkin Fest

Besides a corn maze, Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point has a pumpkin patch, playground, farm-themed children's rides, Pumpkin Princess Playland, Halloween parade, contests and even pig races.

When • Oct. 5-29, Friday-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, 4-10 p.m.

Breakfast with a Witch

Bring your little witches and warlocks to "Breakfast with a Witch" at The Gathering Place at Gardner Village.

Halloween Hoot

Watch a spooktacular bird show, listen to scary stories and enjoy Halloween crafts. Those in costume receive 50 percent off admission.

Spooky Saturdays

Take a peek around Raptors Pumpkin Patch, make a superhero mask, try your hand at Super Hero training, and meet some Super Heroes.

This is the Place Haunted Village

Throughout October the creepy houses, shadowy streets, and assorted spooks will give you haunting experience.

When • Oct. 10-30, Mondays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.

Barnyard Boo

Barnyard Boo offers less-spooky activities for younger goblins including: pony and wagon rides, face painting, boo bowling, spider toss, harry horseshoes, boo-tacular obstacle course, and more.

When • Oct. 11-29; Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 11-13, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Mondays, Oct. 15, 22, 29, 4-8 p.m., Fridays, Oct. 19, 26, 4-8 p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 20, 27, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Haunted Rainforest

Take a trip through the "Haunted Rainforest," where you will encounter man-eating piranha, ghoulish figures, giant anacondas, swamp witches, and Goliath bird-eating spiders.

Family Spooktacular Science Night

Swaner EcoCenter will sponsor a Family Spooktacular Science Night with hands-on science experiments and demonstrations. Make your own slime, magic potions, and atomic-glow worms. Also, discover the mysteries of dry ice and "ghost eggs."

When • Wednesday, Oct. 24, 6-8 p.m.

Enchanted Evening Explorations

Animal lovers of all ages can dress in costumes for Enchanted Evening Explorations, an after-hours guided tour of Hogle Zoo.

When • Oct. 19-26, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 19-20, 7:30-9:30 p.m., Thursday-Friday, Oct. 25-26, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Monster Block Party

This free, daytime activity includes trick-or-treating booths, a costume contest with prizes, free arts and crafts projects, a pumpkin drop and live performances.

Halloween spooktacular

This scare-free Halloween party is full of fun surprises and hands-on activities for the whole family will enjoy.

When • Saturday, Oct. 27, noon-6 p.m.

Halloween Spooktacular

The South Davis Recreation center's annual Halloween Spooktacular includes a canoe ride through a haunted swamp, a walk through the haunted locker room, carnival games, and trick-or-treat alley.

Franks With Frankenstein

Join Frankenstein and his pals for hot dogs and other haunted treats and a chance to see live "creepy crawlies" from the Bean Museum. Dress in costume.
