The Americans (11 p.m., FX), returns for Season 2, which shows every indication of living up to the extremely high quality of Season 1.

The premise of the show is as daring as anything on American television. A pair of Russian spies, Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) are operating in Washington, D.C. They're in an arranged marriage; they have two kids who don't know mom and dad are spies.

Or do they?

If you saw Season 1, you know that we find ourselves rooting for the Russians. And it's a lot more complicated than just good vs. evil.

If you give "The Americans" a chance, it will reach out and grab you. And it won't let go.
