Motley Crue swears its next tour is the "Final Tour."
Not only do they swear it, the band's members have signed a "cessation of touring" contract that supposedly guarantees legally that none of the band members will ever go on the road under the Motley Crue name.
The hair-metal foursome will bring its "Final Tour" to USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City on Friday, August 1. Alice Cooper will be the band's opening act.
The members of Motley Crue signed their "cessation of touring" contract earlier today at a press conference in Los Angeles.
Said drummer Tommy Lee, "we always had a vision of going out with a big f—-ing bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with one or two original band members. Our job here is done!"
The band is scheduled to appear tonight on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and Wednesday morning on "CBS This Morning" to talk about their tour plans.
The tour goes through 2015 — which is when a movie about the band, "The Dirt" (adapted from the band's 2002 tell-all book), hits theaters. It's slated to be directed by Jeff Tremaine, who directed "Bad Grandpa" and the "Jackass" films.
General tickets, from $30 to $100, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith's Tix. Members of Motley Crue's fan club get an early chance to buy tickets Wednesday, and VIP packages go on sale Thursday.
