Television critics (including yours truly, obviously) received a please-review-our-program email this morning from Fox. Along with a link to stream the annual "Treehouse of Horrors" episode, which is scheduled to air Oct. 6.That's right, Oct. 6, some 3½ weeks before Halloween. If it's as good as the email, it will be a very good episode. Here's most of it. (I'm not giving you guys the link.)Pathetic Human Television Critic:This year's THE SIMPSONS Halloween episode, "Treehouse of Horror XXIV," airing Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013( 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX, is now available for viewing ...We urge you not to reveal "spoilers" contained in this episode, such as the number and nature of the beheadings and disembowelings, the "couch gag" directed by human Guillermo Del Toro, the fact that the episode has a Halloween theme, or its preposterously early air date. We also request you do not compare this episode, favorably or unfavorably, with Halloween episodes of THE SIMPSONS, or that you reveal the date of our scheduled conquest of your planet, currently Oct. 23, 2013, during the World Series, when everyone is napping. We hope you give the episode a fair, objective review, keeping in mind that we can probe you just as painfully as you probe our show.Kneel before your future rulers,Kang and Kodos
