The Samoan Cultural Celebration of Utah is the largest Pacific Islander cultural event in the Intermountain region and with consistent annual attendance of approximately 10,000, the Celebration has been the largest gathering of Polynesians in the state of Utah since its inception in 1998.

This year's event is slated to be the largest yet, prompting organizers to relocate from its previous venue in West Valley City to South Jordan.

The Celebration opens on Wednesday, July 24 with a lineup of performers including the Polynesian Cultural Center promotion troupe from Hawai'i, the dynamic Dee-licious Dance Crew from New Zealand, and Utah-based cultural arts groups.

Wednesday night will also feature the premiere of "Fagogo: Stories of Samoa," the live-action musical production written and directed by the renowned Samoan author and Utah resident, Sia Figiel.

"Fagogo: Stories of Samoa" will be performed at 9 p.m on July 24 and July 26.

The Celebration runs all-day (until 11 p.m.) from July 24 to July 27 at the South Jordan Equestrian Park Fairgrounds (11400 S. 2100 W.).

Admission is free and the public is invited.
