The 41-year-rapper and mogul, Tech N9ne, brings the Independent Powerhouse tour to Utah, where he claims to have "one of the bigger" fan bases.
"We've been going there (to Utah) since 2001. It's a family affair. We have a connection there," he said in a recent telephone interview.
The tour includes fellow musicians from his Strange Music label including Brotha Lynch Hung, Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Rittz, Ces Cru and Mista Icepick.
A Kansas City native known for his quick rhyming, Tech N9ne is finishing work on his much-anticipated album "Something Else," which is expected in July.
He promised that the epic album would feature him rapping about "some of the things I've never said before." In the meantime, his ambitions is to remain as one of the most influential people in the so-called "underground rap" scene. "I'm trying to be number-one all over," he said. "My quest is for world domination. In the future, Strange Music will be a major."
Perhaps by that time, his son, an aspiring rapper, will be a major star. "I hope it turns out," Tech N9ne said of his son's dreams. "I want him to do whatever he wants to do except if it's a pimp or gang-banger."
The doting father even complimented his son's rhymes: "They weren't wack." But were they wiggity wack?
