After headlining his first large-venue tour, rising D.J. and producer Dirty South is returning to more intimate clubs such as Park City Live, the former home of Harry O's.
This will be the 34-year-old Los Angeles EDM master's first trip to Utah, which he said in a telephone interview is "fun and scary at the same time."
He grew up in Serbia, but moved with his family to Australia when the Bosnian War heated up in the early 1990s.
Dirty South has produced, collaborated or remixed Snoop Dogg, The Pussycat Dolls, U2, Diddy, David Guetta, and, most notably, University of Utah-educated and former Utahn Kaskade.
Dirty South's remix of Kaskade's "Sorry," which was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording. He also was nominated in 2011 in the same category for a remix he and Axwell did for The Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition."
Dirty South counts Kaskade as a friend. "I know him pretty well," he said. "I usually hang out with nice people."
