Law & Order: SVU (8 and 9 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5) kicks off its 14th season with a very good, three-part story.

The investigation into a young woman's death uncovers corruption within the NYPD - and Captain Cragen is framed for murder.

The first two episodes of the story - which plays out like a miniseries of sorts - air tonight. The third and final episode airs next week.
