Fans of "The Sound of Music" should gather slope-side at Deer Valley Resort for what is called a "do-re-mi-fa-soooooo irresistibly fun evening of film, singing and costume contest bedecked fabulousness."

The final show of the 2012 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights series features Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music on Saturday, September 1, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. and the show at 6 p.m.

The evening begins with a quick vocal warm up and a costume contest. Then, the classic film, starring Julie Andrews, fills the giant outdoor screen and the rest is sheer joy. Subtitles accompany the movie, for those audience members not up on the lyrics – and so as not to fumble and bumble through "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…" Since 1999, the U.K.-based, Sing-a-Long-a outfit has been pairing film and sing-alongs in venues around the world and selling out massive stages, such as the Hollywood Bowl.

Utah resident and one of the original cast members of the film, Heather Urich, will be on hand to sign "The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook."
