Frozen summer treats Day 27: Shave ice from Mo’ Bettah Steaks
Day 27 » Shave ice from Mo’ Bettah Steaks
First Published Aug 23 2012 09:28 pm • Last Updated Aug 28 2012 12:48 pm

Every day in August, The Tribune staff will select a frozen confection for readers to try. We’re tasting our way through ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, shave ice and any other treats that will help us beat the heat. Today’s pick:

Shave ice » Not to be confused with a snow cone, this Hawaiian favorite is made with finely shaved ice that absorbs the flavored syrup more efficiently. Mo’ Bettah Steaks offers 26 flavors, including lilikoi (passion fruit), li hing mui (dried plum), guava, cotton candy and bubble gum. Add-ons such as ice cream, li hing mui and azuki beans are available.
