It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Dallas, past and present. The revival of the series has been great fun - a nice mix of old and new, with the same sort of soapy plotlines at a highly accelerated pace.
And in the season finale (7 and 10 p.m., TNT), there are all sorts of delicious developments. Including a revelation/cliffhanger in the final scene that made my jaw drop. I totally did not see it coming.
And it made me laugh out loud because it was just so darn entertaining.
By the way, TNT has already ordered a second season. Fifteen episodes next year, up from 10 this year.
• Also tonight, NBC gives us a sneak preview of Matthew Perry's new sitcom, Go On (10:04 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5). Perry stars as Ryan King, a sports talk radio host who's is struggling with the recent death of his wife.
Ryan's boss orders him to attend a grief counseling group, where he meets a motley crew of folks also struggling with loss.
Doesn't exactly sound like your typical comedy, and it's not. It's rather dark, and has heartfelt moments that rival anything you'll see in TV's top dramas.
I'm not exactly sure where this is headed and how it will play out as the series continues, but the first episode is certainly intriguing.
(By the way, the regular premiere of "Go On" is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 8:30 p.m.)

So You Think You Can Dance (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13): The remaining contestants perform; more dancers are eliminated.
