Larry H. Miller Communications Corporation has, as expected, announced a new radio show aimed at BYU fans.
"Cougar Blue with Alema Harrington" will air weekdays from noon-3 p.m. on KOVO 960-AM beginning Monday. He'll be joined by fellow former BYU player Ben Criddle.
The radio group, which includes 1280 The Zone and 97.5 The Zone are perceived to be pro-Utah. (I'm not saying that's a correct perception, but it's out there.)
The addition of a BYU-centric show is meant as somewhat of a counterbalance.
However ... the folks at LHM are, perhaps, doing BYU fans a disservice by airing "Cougar Blue" on KOVO, because that station's signal isn't strong north of the Point of the Mountain. And there are an awful lot of BYU fans who live in Salt Lake County and points north.

BYU alums Alema Harrington and Ben Criddle host the Utah County radio program.SALT LAKE CITY (August 3, 2012) - Larry H. Miller (LHM) Communications Corporation announced today the launch of "Cougar Blue with Alema Harrington" who will be joined by co-host Ben Criddle on 960 (KOVO-AM), which serves Utah County. "Cougar Blue with Alema Harrington" will air from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. MT, Monday through Friday. The show will feature a guest list that will take the listener inside the huddle with in-depth information about Cougar sports. "Utah County is the hot bed for BYU sports and we want to give the Cougars more to cheer about," said Randy Rogers, Vice President/General Manager of 1280 The Zone, 97.5 The Zone and 960 AM. Harrington and Criddle are well known to Cougar fans with both having played football at the school. Harrington, a media veteran of over two decades, is currently the host of "Jazz Game Night," the pre, half and postgame show for the Emmy award winning Utah Jazz television broadcasts on ROOT Sports. Harrington is also the face of the BYU football pre and postgame show on BYUtv.Known for his intensity and drive as a player for the Cougars, Ben Criddle makes the transition from the football field to the radio booth, joining Harrington to bring the same insight he brought to BYU from 2005-2007. Named as an honorable mention for ESPN.com's "Newcomer of the Year" award in 2006, Criddle was an anchor on a BYU defense that was ranked among the nation's best in his final two years.
