If you're in the mood for an evening of eats, tunes and conviviality in an urban setting, the Granary District is holding another block party tonight from 5 to 8.

Besides lots of local food and music, there'll be an opportunity to learn about the potential of the Granary District. The light-industrial neighborhood is roughly bordered by 600 South, 300 West, the 900 South Interstate 15 off-ramp and I-15 .

Bring your appetite to sample offerings from the many food trucks, including Crepes on a Roll, Cruzin Sushi, Better Burger, Pogi's Fire Grilled Pizza and 3 Brother's Tacos. M Flores will be selling tamales.

Many of the vendors are part of the neighborhood, which the Granary District is focused on revitalizing. Holding block parties is just one way to get people to come down and find out what the area has to offer. "It'll be a blast," said James Alfandre, one of the leaders in the neighborhood planning effort.

Indie rock Exigent Records will be supplying some of the local entertainment, as will the Salt City (Roller Derby) Girls.

Also, Green Drinks — a freeform group of people interested in environmental issues — and the Young Architects Forum are hosting a Jane's Walk from 6 to 8 p.m., beginning at ArtSpace Commons, 423 W. 800 South.

What's a Jane's Walk? The name comes from famous urbanist Jane Jacobs, Alfandre said. According to janejacobswalk.org, a Jane's Walk helps community members "discover and respond to the complexities of their city through personal and shared observation."

So take a walk and learn about the architecture.

After all that, you might be thirsty. Luckily, the fun will be heading over to Frida Bistro, 545 W. 700 South. From 8:30 to 10 p.m., partyers can down libations, munch tapas and listen to a DJ mashup while watching a photography show.
