Only Salt Lake Acting Company's annual rite known as "Saturday's Voyeur" comes close to creating the kind of party atmosphere through theater that is Plan-B Theatre Company's annual "SLAM."

True to our modern-day pressures it asks that five Utah playwrights turn out five short plays in just 23 hours. Then it's all served up fresh, through the talents of five local directors and a bonanza of local acting talent.

This year's installment features works by local playwrights Matthew Ivan Bennett, Elaine Jarvik, Julie Jensen, Jenifer Nii and Eric Samuelsen directed by John Graham, Alexandra Harbold, Kyle Lewis, Kay Shean and Christy Summerhays. Actors on tap include Kirt Bateman, Carleton Bluford, Dee-Dee Darby-Duffin, April Fossen, Mark Fossen, Colleen Lewis, Stephanie Howell, Deena Marie Manzanares, Tracie Merrill, Lauren Noll, Topher Rasmussen, Latoya Rhodes, Jason Tatom, Kalyn West and Claire Wilson.

This is a full-dress, full-fun affair with cash bar and finger food from Cali's Natural Foods.
