From global warming to pollution to energy shortages to space junk, it's becomes more obvious every week that it's going to take a lot of rational thought, innovation and pure, off-the-wall creativity to solve the world's problems.

An exhibition at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, in partnership with the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute at the University of Utah and the state Division of Arts and Museums, probes the creative intersection of art and science in "Noticers," which will run May 3 through June 27.

The presentation includes visual arts, hands-on activities and interactive installations, including eight art-and-science learning stations to intrigue budding "noticers," that is people who look at the world around them and seek answers through science or art.

The correlation between art and science will be discussed by the exhibit's curators at the opening reception May 3 at 6 p.m.
