• The entertainment industry is mourning the death of Dick Clark, who died Wednesday at 82. Clark, known as "the world's oldest teen-ager" for his exuberance, was famed for introducing mainstream America to rock 'n' roll on "American Bandstand" — but he also was a game-show host ("The $25,000 Pyramid" and its reincarnations) and producer responsible for ringing in the New Year, creating the American Music Awards and raising the TV profile of the Golden Globes. • The Cannes Film Festival has announced its line-up. Some big names among the chosen directors: Wes Anderson ("Moonrise Kingdom"), Michael Haneke ("Amour"), Ken Loach ("The Angels' Share"), David Cronenberg ("Cosmopolis"), Abbas Kiarostami ("Like Someone in Love"), Walter Salles ("On the Road") and Lee Daniels ("The Paperboy"). The highlight of the "Un Certain Regard" program may be Benh Zeitlin's Sundance winner "Beasts of the Southern Wild" — though Brandon Cronenberg, David's son, is there with "Antiviral."
