"Lucky Stiff" comes to Heritage Theatre in Perry
Farces rarely, if ever, feature an inheritance that can only be collected when someone passes for living.
"Lucky Stiff" features that element, with $6 million at stake. It's also a "musical murder mystery."
The plot involves an English shoe salesman who must see the embalmed body of his Atlantic City uncle all the way through a Monte Carlo cruise vacation in order to collect. And he can only collect if that uncle exhibits all the signs of the living. Heritage Theatre's production promises slammed doors, diamonds, a corpse in a wheelchair and enough mistaken identies to qualify as farce proper. Jacob Thompson directs.
