Eye on what shapes experience part of 'salt' exhibition

Utah artist Daniel Everett will mark the fifth project in the Museum's salt exhibition series that showcases contemporary art from around the world. Everett works in a range of media to explore the way the man-made environment — architecture, surveillance — shapes individual experience. The exhibit includes several photographic prints, two video pieces and mixed-media installations. Jill Dawsey, now associate curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, organized salt 5 while she was chief curator at the UMFA.

Published in 1847, the novel is a classic, but the Art Access group will study it through "a disability lens," including Mr. Rochester's "maniac" first wife and his ultimate redemption by becoming "blind and a cripple." This event is free but is limited to 20 participants.
