Utah fashionistas flocked to the opening of City Creek Center on Thursday to make and buy fashion statements. First-day shoppers favored blacks and neutrals with pops of color, including bright blue skinny jeans, purple leggings, sapphire shoes and metallic embellishments, and fashion-forward footwear ranging from color-blocked pumps to strappy studded sandals. Lightweight casual cardigans — or, as they say, "cardis" — added texture, while outfit-making accessories attracted attention. On view: oversized satchels, hats, stacks of bangles, bold necklaces and stylish sunglasses.
