Shamrocks and dreadlocks in Ogden

San Diego’s Tribal Seeds is known for the spiritually driven rock vibe they have infused with the rootsier side of reggae. This gig is an unusual one for the band and the state of Utah: It is called the "Shamrocks & Dreadlocks" show, perhaps the first time reggae and St. Patrick’s Day have shaken hands locally. (Utah reggae bands Natural Roots and Funk & Gonzo will perform, and so will Irish dancers.) "Reggae is about good vibes, so [it] goes well with every occasion," said Tribal Seeds’ T-Ray in an interview with The Tribune, despite saying his bandmates haven’t established a St. Patrick’s Day tradition. But perhaps they are ready to do such a thing. "Utah rages every time we play in Salt Lake City. I’m looking forward to the St. Pat’s Day event, too. Y’all always bring the energy. And there’s less alcohol in your beer — [it’s] so amazing y’all still rage as hard as you do."
