Nothing says a pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration more than a reggae band, and The Depot will host a night of reggae when Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Rebelution’s Peace of Mind Tour hits the venue with special guests The Green and Pep Love. "We love the color green in Rebelution," said the band’s singer and guitarist Eric Rachmany. (If you need to ask why, you don’t know the genre very well.) The touring machine finally released "Peace of Mind" earlier this year, after nearly three years of waiting by the rapidly growing fanbase. The album’s release was postponed, Rachmany said, because the pop-reggae band was touring so much it didn’t have time to record. But the work paid off: The album debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard album chart, even after the band gave away half of the album free on its website for six weeks before its release. To reward fans for their patience, Rebelution made available a version that included the album’s songs performed acoustically, as well as the third album, consisting of dub renditions (instrumental remixes done by Easy Star’s Michael Goldwasser, famed for other dub remixes such as Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band and Radiodread). "We gave fans 36 tracks to listen to," Rachmany said.
