O'Brother performs tonight in Salt Lake CitySpotlight show • Don't be fooled by the name of this band. This is not a show built around the bluegrass music that provided the kick in the Coen brothers' "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Rather, O'Brother is an experimental hard-rock band led by brothers Anton and Johnny Dang, who created the band 14 years ago with Anton's best friend in seventh grade, drummer Michael Martens. The group's debut album, "Garden Window," was released to widespread acclaim last month, and in an interview Martens said the band is looking forward to playing the small Kilby Court for the second time. "We grew up playing rooms like that," Martens said. Now a sextet with the addition of a singer and third guitarist, the group tours the world relentlessly. "When you play 200 shows a year, you have no choice but to become tighter," Martens said. With more time to play for this Kilby Court gig, Martens is excited about the chance to try out jams on "Garden Window" songs such as "Cleanse Me," which on the record clocks in at just under 14 minutes. "A 14-minute song doesn't work in a 30-minute set," Martens said.
