Some of the top young fencers in the country will be in Salt Lake City this weekend for the Junior Olympic Fencing Championships scheduled Friday through Monday at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

About 2,000 fencers 20 years and younger are expected to compete in individual and team events in epee, foil and saber. This is the final qualifying tournament for the 2012 Junior and Cadet World Championships in Moscow and will play an important role in selecting the teams.
