Like "Annie" and "The Sound of Music" long before it, Stephen Schwartz's "Wicked" is fast becoming the kind of musical you and your kids love, to the type of musical that's soon to be bound in the popular imagination.

That's due in large part to the way it hooks its caboose to the old train of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. As a back-story of exactly how the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good came to be, "Wicked" is hard to beat. It's almost a bonus that it has great tunes to boot, such as "I'm Not That Girl" and "As Long as You're Mine" and "No Good Deed."

The show sold out in record time its first tour through Salt Lake City. Now's your chance to be quicker at the phone, or online keyboard, when tickets go on sale May 11, 10 a.m. sharp. If you're used to sleeping in on Saturday mornings, here's one weekend you might want to break the habit.
