A Tooele man died Saturday from his injuries and his female passenger remained in serious condition after a rollover crash late Friday on Tooele County’s State Road 36.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Dougherty said Trenten Crawford, 18, passed away at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he had been flown by helicopter late Friday. The injured woman was identified as Cassandra Quaid, 18, of Pine Canyon. Dougherty said that Crawford was thought to have experienced diabetes-related medical problem and reached down for something to eat or drink when his 1999 Saturn drifted off the right side of the road about 10 p.m. Friday halfway between Vernon and Stockton.

When he attempted to steer the car back onto the pavement, it slid across both lanes and off the west side, rolling several times. Crawford and Quaid were not wearing their seat belts and were ejected, Dougherty said. One other male passenger was not ejected or seriously injured.
The second male passenger, Darrin P. Yadon, 20, of Tooele, was transported to a local medical facility for observation for a wrist injury but was reported to be in good condition.
