EVE celebrations begin today

New Year’s Eve » Downtown celebration kicks-off this evening and continues into 2012.

Downtown’s EVE Celebration begins at 5 p.m. tonight.

The annual three-day New Year’s Eve celebration offers music and performance events at venues ranging from Temple Square to the Clark Planetarium at The Gateway. The highlights of tonight’s entertainment offerings include two music events at the Salt Palace, a Reggae Snowsplash and the Temple of Boom with EOTO — described by promoters as an electronic music installation with a 40-foot Mayan temple with fire that shoots 30 feet in the air.

Tickets » $12 in advance, $15 day of, at eveslc.com or at the gate; good for all three nights. Advance discount tickets at Harmons or Maverik locations. Kids 10 and younger are free.
