Founder's Day Concert

The Cathedral of the Madeleine presents its annual Founder's Day Concert, celebrating the music of Bach and Mozart. On the first half of the program is Mozart's "Litaniae Lauretanae, a 12th-century Loretian Litany used to honor Mary. The second half of the program features Bach's Harpsichord Concerto No. 1 in D minor, performed by organist Douglas O'Neill, followed by a Bach cantata performed by the Madeleine Choir School.

Concerto night at BYU

Student soloists from Brigham Young University's School of Music will join the BYU Symphony Orchestra in an Evening of Concertos featuring music by Liszt, Saint- Saëns, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and others. This recital will showcase the junior, sophomore and freshman winners of the annual BYU Concerto Competition.

SUU Jazz Band kicks it up

SUU's Jazz Band performs in "Symphony in Riffs," a Music Masterworks series concert with guest artist Bob Sheppard on saxophone. The program includes "Are We There Yet?" from the Pat Metheny Group and the Bob Curnow Band, "Ancestors" by Bob Mintzer and "Take It in Stride" by Brett Spainhour.

China concert preview

The Brigham Young University Chamber Orchestra will preview its repertoire for an upcoming tour to China. The ensemble will perform Three Episodes from "On the Town" by Leonard Bernstein; "The Butterfly Lovers" Violin Concerto by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao featuring violinist Aubrey Woods; "Muqam" from "Chinese Folk Dance Suite" by Chen Yi with violin soloist Rachel Ostler; Edward Elgar's "Dream Children"; and "Dances of Galanta" by Zoltán Kodály.
